adventures in Brooklyn, vol. 5

adventures in Brooklyn, vol. 5

I really need to invest in rain boots. It struck me yesterday as I was walking home in the rain, that rain boots really are going to be a necessity at some point.  Because by the time I got home, there was no other word for what was happening with my shoes and socks than…

shame, guilt, love, and evangelism

shame, guilt, love, and evangelism

A few weeks ago, a woman got onto the subway at the stop after mine, and after awhile, she began to preach.  At first, I thought she might have been the slightest bit crazy, because she started by quoting random lyrics to old-school church songs (but saying them, not singing them), and it’s not unusual in…

questions, conversations, and cultural Christianity

questions, conversations, and cultural Christianity

Meet Happy
Simple Felicity is, at its heart, a blog based on the unshakeable belief that happiness really isn't all that complicated. It's often found in the simplest of things: good food, good books, and good company. So those are the things I write about, along with a few other things that really matter to me, including faith and feminism. A bit about me: My name is Happy. I have an amazing talent for misplacing my keys, a deep appreciation for whomever looked at the coffee bean and thought, "Hey, I wonder what would happen if I roasted this?", and road trips to Michigan are pretty much my favorite.
