survey results (finally!)

Did I say these survey results would be posted two weeks ago? That was sure my intention. I ended up needing a little more of a break than I thought I did at the beginning of the summer. Thanks so much for your patience – and thanks especially to those of you who took the time to fill out the survey last month.

According to the survey:

  • 74% of Simple Felicity’s readers are female; 26% are male.
  • The majority of Simple Felicity’s readers are between the ages of 25-44, but there are a few on either side of that spectrum as well, and a little over half of all my readers are parents.
  • Almost everyone who took the survey is from the United States – but here’s a shout-out to a reader in Kenya who took the time to fill out the survey!  I’m glad you’re here!.  🙂
  • Almost 45% of Simple Felicity’s readers are ministry leaders, and 22% are stay-home parents.  Everyone who took the survey identified as Christian.
  • 43% of Simple Felicity’s readers have been with me since before I launched on WordPress (thanks for tagging along, friends!) and the other 57% are new to Simple Felicity since January.  That’s awesome.  Thanks for reading!
  • For those of you who are fellow bloggers – don’t let the statistics about how Facebook pages do and don’t work convince you that Facebook isn’t a good way to find new readers for your blog.  Exactly half of my readers found Simple Felicity through a link on Facebook.  One found my blog through a link on another blog, and the rest heard about it from a friend.  Having a fan page is worth it. (And if you haven’t “liked” mine yet, please do!)
  • I was really surprised to find that all of the categories I use to guide my writing and keep it at least somewhat focused are things you all want to read about; there really weren’t any topics that showed statistically as “hey, don’t write about this anymore, Hap.”  So thanks for the support, and I’ll keep writing!  I think I may “hide” 7QTs as a main category from the home page (I’ll still write them, tho!), and maybe start filing “Sabbath” posts under “Spirituality” instead – but otherwise, I think the format and the topics I started with are working.  Please feel free to comment below if you disagree – or if there’s something I’m not writing about that you wish I would!

And now for the question I was most excited about:

If you could receive one thank you gift from Simple Felicity, just for being a fan, what would it be?

  •     a) a 30-day devotional focused on deepening your walk with God
  •     b) an e-book about building Sabbath into your busy schedule
  •     c) a 21-day guide towards becoming a happier person

The answer to this question?

A three-way tie… Lol.

So here’s what I plan to do.  I’m going to start with the 21-day guide towards becoming a happier person.  And I’m going to ask you to help me write it.  It’s going to be fun!

Stay tuned for details.  🙂

Meet Happy
Simple Felicity is, at its heart, a blog based on the unshakeable belief that happiness really isn't all that complicated. It's often found in the simplest of things: good food, good books, and good company. So those are the things I write about, along with a few other things that really matter to me, including faith and feminism. A bit about me: My name is Happy. I have an amazing talent for misplacing my keys, a deep appreciation for whomever looked at the coffee bean and thought, "Hey, I wonder what would happen if I roasted this?", and road trips to Michigan are pretty much my favorite.
