Happy Valentine’s Day! In keeping with the spirit of this series, I decided that this year, instead of wearing black and retreating, I am going to celebrate. I bought myself a box of chocolates, because honestly, I love Whitman’s Sampler chocolates (especially the coconut-filled ones) and they were 50% off. I also bought a new necklace and matching earrings to wear when I go out to the movies with a friend this evening. The only thing missing from this perfect way to celebrate Valentine’s Day is a dozen red roses. I really wanted them – but it came down to buying roses or having popcorn at the movies… Ah, well. Maybe there will be some droopy ones on sale at the grocery store tomorrow. 🙂
I want to give a shout-out to everyone who’s been so supportive and encouraging as I’ve been writing this series on singleness and the church. We’re halfway thru, and I just want to say thanks for sticking with me on this, and for taking the time to read it. Thanks, too, for liking and sharing my posts on Facebook and via Twitter throughout the day. I am really honored that you do. I’m kind of floored by the numbers, honestly. 95 Facebook likes/shares for one post may not seem like a lot in the grand scheme of things, but for this blogger – dreaming about making a difference in the world while coming from relative obscurity – it’s a really good start. So thank you!
I’m not sure there’s anything in the world that makes me more grateful for Sabbath days than insanely busy weeks. This one was off the charts insane for so many reasons, and I am so very glad for a break in the craziness today. It all kicks back in tomorrow for a 48 hour sprint through the weekend – but today… today is chill. Which just makes me happy.

This is by far one of the absolute coolest collections of short films I have ever seen. They’re beautifully done. These videos were put out by a lingerie company in Thailand that believes all women are beautiful. These three women truly are. Their stories are worth the 20 minutes.
