Sadly, only true Parenthood fans will truly understand that, but OMGoodness, she sent the lawyer kid home last night. Joel – we’re pulling for you. We know you were really dumb for about 5 episodes. But we still think you’re awesome, and she has been soooo much dumber this season than you ever were last season. You were really dumb. But we still really like you.
Julia doesn’t deserve you – at. all. – but we do hope she picks you.

There is an actual town in Mississippi called “Hot Coffee.” Apparently its residents include German Baptists who run restaurants without electricity, and there is only one pot of coffee in the entire town, but still… Someone named it “Hot Coffee” – which is just all kinds of awesomesauce.
Confession (that any of my Spotify followers will attest to): I am already listening to Christmas music. Amanda-of-the-Shreds-and-Patches told me to check out Kim Walker-Smith’s new Christmas album, and I am so not sorry.

I am not sure there are enough #hashtags to express how much I #loved this article from Richard Stearns, and his observations on the implications of the prevalent world-wide view concerning the roles of women in leadership within the church.
Also, Anne Lamott is still amazing. As always. So please follow that link, and learn All The Things. Because that is what she teaches… and All The Things are worth learning.

In the interest of true transparency, I’ll admit that Peter Brown (who played Tom Hamilton in this movie) was probably my first movie-crush (aside from Frankie Avalon, who does not count), but the sound track to this movie is one of my core memories from childhood. And no, Peter Brown does not feature prominently in this particular scene:
