Good morning, Lord.
Still groggy, and the children are
already
putting on a concert upstairs.
Just one more cup of coffee?
*sigh*
Help me this day to live in love,
to be who You are making me to be.
Help me to make this day
a memory worth having,
to teach these impressionable people
how to reflect You.
Help me to see past
the seemingly endless bickering,
the selfishness of not-sharing,
the whining,
the I-want-this-now-ness,
to who these kids will someday be:
“Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
May my words speak truth
that will point them there.
And may my countenance
and my actions
speak love, grace, and mercy
without fail.
Thank You, God,
for coffee, chocolate,
and this amazing day.
And most of all,
for the chance to be here in it,
with You.
I love You.
