The options have been kicking around in my head for a few days now.
What will my one word for 2015 be?
I hopped on the OneWord365 train a couple of years ago with the word compassion, and while I didn’t blog about it often, it was impactful. Learning to have compassion towards myself that year was part of my journey towards last year’s word: freedom. And freedom was an amazing journey – again, not one I blogged about often, but nevertheless, with the word freedom in the back of my mind all year, I found it – in pretty much all the ways I’d wanted to.
So what will it be this year? There are so many to choose from! Here are some of the words I’ve been mulling over:
Happiness. Felicity. Simplicity. Listen. Be. Become. Becoming. Grow. Change. New. Write. Trust. Live. Hope. Believe. Courage. Faith. Joy. Healing. Stillness. Rest.
All of which are words I need right now.
The last few weeks have been insanely difficult. For various reasons, as of three days ago, much of my life as I knew it just … stopped. And now I’m looking for a new job, and possibly a new place to live – for a new sense of purpose, or maybe more accurately, a new way to live into it.
I didn’t want to be here. But I am.
And so I choose happiness. Because after thinking about it for awhile, I am pretty sure all those other words lead to it anyway.
So here’s to a new year, to new adventures, and to becoming… well, just a little more Happy.

The one that I saw that I immediately though, “That’s Hap!” was BECOME! ❤️
Happiness completely encompasses all of them though! I love it!

January 3, 2015I was very, very close to choosing “becoming” as my OneWord… I’ll probably write about that a fair bit, too, this year.
