Back to home
on the days when you just can’t even

on the days when you just can’t even

You know those days that start out looking so organized and promising and then suddenly unravel into complete chaos, where one thing after another goes wrong, none of the things you mean to get done end up happening at all, you feel like you’re consistently disappointing people, and by the end of the day, you have nothing left, and…

maybe not nothing

maybe not nothing

Today was a good day.  I slept in a bit, treated myself to an hour and half at a local spa, came home and cooked myself an extravagant lunch, watched a few episodes of Gilmore Girls, spent some more time cooking, and listened to great music.  It was good.  Quiet.  Nice.  Uneventful. And exactly what…

Book Review: Be You. Do Good.

Book Review: Be You. Do Good.

As I mentioned last week, I’ve been reading Be You. Do Good., by Jonathan David Golden.  I meant it when I said it’s been a fabulous read.  The stories Golden tells about his work in Rwanda and the positive change that his company is bringing about in the lives of hundreds of people around the world are…

Choosing “fight” as my OneWord for 2016 was surprisingly easy – but the day-to-day practicality of living it out sure isn’t turning out to be.  What am I going to do on the days when I don’t feel like fighting, or when I’m not sure what I’m fighting for? My OneWord for 2016

My OneWord for 2016

I don’t think I’ve ever been so glad to see a year come to an end. New Year’s Day is typically one of my favorite holidays because it represents new beginnings, and as such, holds so much promise.  So far this year, it’s been hard to feel that promise – and the excitement I wish would come…

Meet Happy

Thanks for visiting!

Simple Felicity is, at its heart, a blog based on the unshakeable belief that happiness really isn't all that complicated. Sometimes finding it can be - but happiness itself is pretty simple, and it's often found in the simplest of things: good food, good books, and good company. So those are the things I write about, along with a few other things that really matter to me, including faith and feminism.

A bit about me: My name is Happy. I have an amazing talent for misplacing my keys, a deep appreciation for whomever looked at the coffee bean and thought, "Hey, I wonder what would happen if I roasted this?", and road trips to Michigan are pretty much my favorite.

Contact me anytime at simplefelicity7 (at) gmail (dot) com! I'd love to hear from you.
