it’s not about status

it’s not about status

Today’s post in this series on singleness and the church is a guest post by my friend, Shara Wright, whose love and passion for God and His people inspire me, pretty much daily. My mom and my grandmother were both single mothers. My mom later got re-married, although my grandmother never did. She is as…

(don’t) pity us

(don’t) pity us

i had intended to write a really abstract post about this – a post that joked about the dichotomy between the two main perspectives that seem to exist for single Christians: “pity us!” “we are not to be pitied!” because if we are totally honest, those of us who are single can find ourselves thinking each…

Today’s post in this series on singleness and the church is a guest post by my new friend Joan. I firmly believe that up until the past year of my life, I suffered from a medical condition called I-Need-A-Boy-In-My-Life-At-All-Times-Syndrome.  For those of you unaware of this non-life threatening but life encompassing condition, it predominantly affects…

Meet Happy
Simple Felicity is, at its heart, a blog based on the unshakeable belief that happiness really isn't all that complicated. It's often found in the simplest of things: good food, good books, and good company. So those are the things I write about, along with a few other things that really matter to me, including faith and feminism. A bit about me: My name is Happy. I have an amazing talent for misplacing my keys, a deep appreciation for whomever looked at the coffee bean and thought, "Hey, I wonder what would happen if I roasted this?", and road trips to Michigan are pretty much my favorite.
