anybody want to buy a hat?

anybody want to buy a hat?

There’s this great book called “Caps For Sale!” by Esphyr Slobodkina, subtitled A Tale of a Peddler, Some Monkeys and Their Monkey Business. I would highly recommend it – I mean, for under $15.00 you get a great story, and someone to read it to you… It’s the story of a peddler who can’t sell…

be careful whom you call a bald-head

be careful whom you call a bald-head

I found this, and it made me laugh. I forget what the assignment was, but it was for a poetry class in college, and was inspired by both Leviticus 11 and an actual exchange of letters one summer (the pertinent contents of which form the last lines of the poem). I’ve always been intrigued by…

Hannah’s prayer

Hannah’s prayer

Her name is Hannah. She’s an older woman, tall, laugh lines, grey hair, visibly someone who has weathered much but done it with that deep joy that marks those who follow Him. Wrapped in her dark dress coat and a brightly colored scarf, she follows us into the arena where our tech crew will soon…

thoughts on growing up

I was out yesterday for a ride on my bike in this gorgeous fall weather we’re having, and I hit a new trail – well, new to me, anyway. There’s a section where the trail splits and a lovely and helpful wooden sign directs you to a mile-loop trail if you should so desire to…

Meet Happy

Thanks for visiting!

Simple Felicity is, at its heart, a blog based on the unshakeable belief that happiness really isn't all that complicated. Sometimes finding it can be - but happiness itself is pretty simple, and it's often found in the simplest of things: good food, good books, and good company. So those are the things I write about, along with a few other things that really matter to me, including faith and feminism.

A bit about me: My name is Happy. I have an amazing talent for misplacing my keys, a deep appreciation for whomever looked at the coffee bean and thought, "Hey, I wonder what would happen if I roasted this?", and road trips to Michigan are pretty much my favorite.

Contact me anytime at simplefelicity7 (at) gmail (dot) com! I'd love to hear from you.
